Documentation pagesSecurity profile

OnixOS Security is an x86_64 live image with an XFCE desktop and a package selection for security analysis, network inspection and penetration-testing work. Its README describes a Dracula-based dark desktop with OnixOS branding. Use tools only on systems and networks you are authorized to assess.

The manifest adds tools such as nmap, tcpdump, wireshark-qt, masscan, john, hashcat, aircrack-ng, metasploit, sqlmap, gobuster, burpsuite, zaproxy, tor and supporting wordlists and utilities. It also enables a BlackArch repository section in its profile pacman.conf; read the repository guide before adding or changing repository entries.

Live-session persistence

The profile README documents an optional persistent USB setup: create a separate writable ext4 partition on the USB drive, label it ONIX-PERSIST, and select OnixOS Security persistent USB from the BIOS/UEFI menu. Changes are stored under onix-security/x86_64 on that partition. Without it, use the standard non-persistent entry. Back up the USB first and confirm the partition is on the intended removable device.

Profile-specific details come from the Security profile source. The live image’s current architecture is not a guarantee that every listed tool has a build for other targets.
