How the package set is assembled
The build system reads package source names from four active lists. Each list selects a repository output and a source location. A source name is not always the installed binary package name, and a directory in the local package workspace is not automatically published.

Arch User Repository recipes |
The configured source lists are the release inventory. The package inventory records the active names, available local recipes, declared package versions and architecture metadata from the 2026-11-06 source snapshot. Check the linked repositories for later changes.
Base repository
The base list contains distribution components and tools: onix-base, onix-graphics, onix-meta, calamares-onix, onixos-cli-installer, onix-updater, plymouth-onix-boot, onixos-special-eggpkg, onixos-isolated-vm, odesk, olf-deployment-manager, onix-ai-core, onix-ai-gui, olang and qvm-cli.
Some projects package or configure software that has a separate upstream. For example, onix-graphics bundles themes from other projects and calamares-onix packages the Calamares installer with Onix configuration and branding. The package inventory links the source tree and calls out name differences.
The most widely shared package is onix-base. It provides the opkg helper, while pacman remains the package manager and database used for repository transactions.
Community repository
The active list contains openxenmanager, roustabout, xfce-dark-mode-switcher, xfce-title, codex-app and kasaros. The build system fetches these source projects from the OnixOS community package group. An application being packaged by the project does not mean that OnixOS originated the upstream application.
Kernel repository
The current kernel source list selects linux-onix-zen, linux-onix-rt and linux-onix-generic. Their local PKGBUILDs declare x86_64. They are available as separate packages; the six standard profile manifests currently request Arch’s linux package instead.
Firmware repository
The active firmware list selects aic94xx-firmware, ast-firmware, upd72020x-fw and wd719x-firmware from AUR recipes. These are not local OnixOS-authored package recipes. The standard profile pacman configuration uses a separate [onix-firmware] entry when assembling images.
