Included components
The package list includes base system utilities, onix-base, onix-graphics, O Language, network tools, firmware packages, disk utilities, virtual-machine guest agents and archinstall. Core is the only standard profile whose package list includes onixos-cli-installer.
Installer limits
The live image has BIOS and UEFI boot entries. The CLI install workflow in the current installer README requires booting the installer environment in UEFI mode and creates a GPT/EFI layout using systemd-boot. The live image’s BIOS support does not change that installer constraint. archinstall is present as a fallback.
Before installation, back up the target machine and check the selected disk. The installer writes partitions and filesystems to the disk chosen in its interface. See installation for the common safety checklist.
Customizing Core
The profile is an Archiso source project. Its packages.x86_64 file controls the live package selection; pacman.conf enables the profile repositories; and airootfs/ carries live-system files and startup configuration. Review those files together when changing the image.
Core package selection is compared against other standard images in the package/profile map. Repository selection and the profile build command are in the build-system guide.
