OnixOS package

The OnixOS package is named olang and is currently declared for x86_64:

sudo pacman -S olang

The onix-base helper can also install it:

opkg install olang

The package recipe tracks the O Language Git repository and derives its version from the checked-out commit. The reviewed package snapshot was 20260825.898_eb2301c. The package architecture is not a statement about every platform the Go source can target.

Build from source

The runtime is a Go module that declares Go 1.21. With Go and Git installed:

git clone https://gitlab.com/olanguage/olang.git
cd olang
make build

The build target writes an olang binary in the repository directory. The direct Go equivalent is:

go build -o olang .

To install the binary into the Go environment’s install path, the repository provides make install. make system-install copies it to /usr/local/bin and therefore requires system write access.

Docker

The published image starts the REPL by default:

docker pull olproject/olang
docker run --rm -it olproject/olang

To run a source file from the current directory, mount that directory into the container:

docker run --rm -it -v "$PWD:/work" -w /work olproject/olang run hello.ola

The image and package versions can differ. Check the image tag and the installed runtime’s olang –version before relying on a feature described for a specific source revision.
